Oversaw millions in direct investments for the District and Statewide through the budget process, including $1.25 million for the South Bay Center for Counseling to support the expansion of the Strength Based Community Change's Thriving Families Well-being Initiative, $80 million for Juvenile Court Schools, $25 million for Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital, etc.
Successfully led key investments in K-12 around teacher recruitment and retention, STEM education, mental health counseling and family support services, juvenile court and community schools, community green spaces, etc.
Organized efforts in the prevention of MLK Jr. Community Hospital, which hosts one of the last maternity wards in its region, from closure.
Spearheaded historic reforms related to use of force, firearms, de-escalation, and various training policies.
